Consider/Approve Janitorial Bids for the 2009 - 2010 School Year |

Preliminary Matters: In addition to advertising, bids were solicited from J.D. Distributors, A-1 Chemical, B.R. Supply, Fastenal, Interboro, and Central Poly for the purchase of janitorial supplies for the 2009 – 2010 school year. Bids received for janitorial supplies are summarized on the attachment. Bids specifications are attached for your information. The highlighted prices are the bids we are recommending for Board approval. If the low bid is not being recommended, an explanation justifying the recommendation is supplied in the comments column. On two (2) items we have requested samples to insure we are receiving a quality product. The hand soap and facial tissue are health concerns and we would like for the Board to grant discretion to accept the best product.
Staff Recommendation: I agree with Mr. Graham’s recommendations and recommend acceptance of the bids as indicated, with discretion to purchase the best product for hand soap and facial tissue. |
